Booking and payment

2026: What are the high and low season opening dates?

The campsite will be open from April 18 to September 20, 2026.
Low season: April 18 to July 03 + August 28 to September 20 from 9am to 12:30pm and from 2pm to 7:30pm
High season: July 04 to August 29 from 9am to 8pm.
Don’t worry if the campsite is closed in winter, someone is available from Monday to Friday to answer all your questions.

How do I book my stay?

What payment methods are accepted?

You can pay by bank transfer, cheque (payable to Camping Le Grand Large), credit card (securely on the website), ANCV vacation vouchers or connect vacation vouchers.
The campsite is not VACAF approved.

Is there a booking fee?

We do not charge booking fees.

Is there a tourist tax to pay?

Yes, there is a tourist tax (€0.66 per night per person over 18).

How do I pay for my stay?

For rentals, a 25% deposit is required to confirm your reservation. The balance must be paid at least one month before your arrival date. If you book less than one month before your arrival, you must pay the full amount directly.
For pitches, a deposit of €150 is required to confirm your booking, or if your booking is for one or two nights, you will be asked to pay the full amount. The balance must be paid on the day of your arrival.

What happens if I can't make it?

All cancellations must be made by e-mail or post:
– more than 30 days before the day of arrival, a deposit of 30 euros will be retained
for office and administration costs,
– between 30 days and the day of arrival, the deposit will not be reimbursed,
– from 8pm on the day of arrival, unless the customer has announced his lateness, the management reserves the right to dispose of the pitch, the deposit will not be reimbursed.
We do not have a cancellation guarantee, so it’s up to you to check with your bank, insurance company or credit card company.

How do I book a gift voucher?

Gift vouchers can be booked directly on our website. They are valid for the current season. The amounts are €30, €50 or €100.
Simply copy the attached link: gift voucher, choose the value of your choice (€30, €50 or €100) and the person you want to give it to. This person will receive a code to validate when booking.

Can we arrive any day of the week?

– Campsite pitches: Yes, you can arrive and leave on the days of your choice
– Mobile homes: You can arrive and leave on the days of your choice during the low season (18/04 to 03/07 and 13/09 to 20/09). Rentals are from Saturday to Saturday and for a minimum of 7 nights from 04/07 to 12/09.

Can we bring our dog?

Dogs are welcome at Le Grand Large campsite in Normandy. We accept a maximum of one dog per pitch or rental and do not charge extra for our 4-legged friends. They must be kept on a leash and must never be allowed to run at large. Poop bags are available on site. An up-to-date vaccination certificate must be produced on arrival. 1st and 2nd category dogs are not allowed on the campsite. When renting, they must not be left alone.

Is it possible to choose your location?

You can reserve your favorite pitch, or choose according to criteria that are important to you (shade, close to sanitary facilities, with friends, quiet or number). You’ll need to tell us your criteria when you make your reservation in the comments section. Depending on availability at
, we’ll do our utmost to accommodate you. Although it is rare that we are unable to satisfy your request, we cannot guarantee a pitch 100%.

Can minors come alone?

We do not accept unaccompanied minors.

Practical info

Are there any conditions of access to the pool?

Access to the swimming pool is included in your stay. It is only reserved for people staying at the campsite.
Please note:
– Swimming shorts are forbidden
– Children are under the responsibility and supervision of their parents.

What are the instructions concerning cars?

– 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom rentals: A parking space is provided next to your rental. 1 vehicle is included in your reservation.
– Pitches : 1 vehicle is included in your reservation.

Friends are coming to see me. Are they allowed to join me on the campsite?

Your guests must go to the campsite reception to pay the visitor fee and gain access to the campsite. The daily visitor rate gives access to all campsite services.

Daily life on the campsite

Is there wifi?

Yes, the campsite is covered by wifi. Due to our geographical remoteness from the facilities and our poor coverage, there is a charge for this throughout the campsite. Rates are as follows: 15 min = 1 € – 30 min = 2 € – 60 min = 4 € – 120 min = 6 €
However, good news for 4 G and telephone coverage, an antenna has just been installed.

Can we have a barbecue?

No vacation is complete without a barbecue, whether gas, charcoal or electric! Don’t forget to bring your own, as they’re not supplied and we don’t have any collectives. If you’re renting, make sure you don’t barbecue on the terrace, but on the lawn.

Where should I put my rubbish?

To keep nuisance to a minimum and preserve our beautiful environment, you’ll find garbage cans at the entrance to the campsite across the road.
You’ll find black garbage cans for household waste, yellow garbage cans for plastic and cardboard and the green container for glass.

What are the bed sizes for rentals?

All our rentals have a king-size bed. The dimensions are 160 X200.
For single beds, the dimensions are 80 X190.
We offer the rental of fabric sheets for 17 € per bed. We’ll provide them on arrival at the campsite reception desk.

Do you rent out baby equipment?

For mobile home rentals, you can rent a baby chair and/or cot at no extra charge. You can make the request on the online booking form or by e-mail.
The sanitary facilities are also equipped with the necessary facilities: bathroom with changing table and children’s bathtub.

Do you offer bike hire?

We do not rent bicycles on the campsite. Electric bikes can be hired at the 5 Seasons farm in Flamanville.

Do you offer surfboard rentals?

To help you train or improve your skills, surfboards can be rented directly from our campsite reception desk. Different formulas are available: from 3 hours for €15 or a day for €25.

Is there a laundry?

Washing machines and dryers are available in each sanitary building. You need to buy your token at reception, and if you need detergent, you can buy it for €1.
An iron is available at reception.

Games, activities and entertainment

Do you offer any entertainment?

Every week during the summer, we offer a number of activities such as pétanque, team games for children, and sports activities.
We make a point of respecting everyone’s peace and quiet. The weekly concerts end at 10:30 p.m. at the latest.

Does the campsite have playgrounds and sports fields?

We have several outdoor play areas in the dunes at our campsite with swings, slides and structures suitable for the little ones. There’s also a soccer pitch and volleyball court. The tennis court is available on registration at reception. The reception team will give you the keys and equipment for a maximum of 1 hour per day per family, at no extra charge.
The inflatable structure and trampoline are located at the entrance to the campsite.
For older children, 2 pétanque areas are also available for pleasant, convivial moments.
We also have a room with ping-pong tables. Don’t forget your equipment. If you don’t have it, don’t worry, rackets and balls are on sale at the grocery store. We do not rent out equipment.

What are the swimming pool opening times?

Low season (April – May – June – September): 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
High season (July – August): 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The shops

Where to buy bread?

Fresh bread and pastries are on sale every morning at the grocery store.
Please note: in low season, you must place your order the day before.

What are the bar's opening hours?

The bar is open from 9am to 12:30pm and 2pm to 7:30pm, and from 8:30am to 11pm in summer.

Can we also have breakfast?

Yes, head to the bar for a terrace breakfast served by our dynamic team.

Is there a restaurant?

A snack bar only, open from midday and for burgers from 6.30pm.
You can order croques monsieur, burgers, fries and boards.
For dessert, there’s ice cream at the bar.
You can dine on the bar’s large terrace or take away at your own place.

Where to buy stamps and postcards?

At the reception desk, you’ll find postcards of the campsite or the region to delight your friends and family. We also have stamps for sale. The yellow letterbox is located at the side of the reception area.

Our 2 and 3 bedroom rentals

What are the arrival and departure times?

Arrival:
– from 18/04 to 20/09 from 15:00 to 19:00
Departure: the rental must be vacated between 09:00 and 10:00.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

A deposit will be required on arrival by credit card, cheque or cash. On your departure, we will carry out an inventory of fixtures and fittings and cancel your deposit. Please do not hesitate to inform reception of any shortcomings or damage you notice on arrival or during your stay.

Can we install an extra tent on our plot?

Tents can only be set up on camping pitches. We can do our best to reserve a pitch and a rental on 2 plots side by side.

Are dogs allowed in rental properties?

Yes, one pet is allowed per rental at no extra charge. Pets must not be left alone in your absence.

Can I rent sheets and towels?

You can reserve them when you make your reservation for €17 per bed and a towel kit for €7.
Did you forget? Don’t panic, to guarantee availability, just send us an e-mail and we’ll add them to your order (payment will be made on site).

Do I have to clean up before returning my vacation rental?

You must return your rental as you found it on arrival. This means leaving the premises clean, collecting sheets and towels, emptying and cleaning the fridge, emptying the garbage can, cleaning and putting away the dishes.
We do not offer a cleaning service.

Campsites

What are the arrival and departure times for pitches?

From 18/04 to 20/09:
Arrival: 2 pm to 7 pm
Departure: Before noon

What electrical outlets are used?

The campsite is equipped with European plugs (3 pins). We sell them for 15 €.

Can I rent a refrigerator or barbecue?

We do not offer refrigerators or barbecues for hire. We only have a system of coolers in the form of a deposit.

Where are the toilets?

When you arrive, we’ll give you a map of the campsite and show you which toilet block is closest to your pitch.

How do I get to the washrooms?

The sanitary facilities are open 24 hours a day, and no tokens are required for showers.

Where can I drain my motorhome? v

There’s a dumping area at the campsite entrance and a chemical dumping station near the large sanitary block.
Please note that drinking water and drainage connections are available on all pitches.

Outside the campsite

Where can I shop?

The campsite’s own grocery store can help you out quickly. Otherwise, there are several supermarkets within 4 km of our campsite, including Super U, Intermarché and LIDL. In the town center of Les Pieux, you’ll find all the local shops (butcher, fishmonger, baker, chemist, hairdresser…) you might need during your stay.

How do I organize my excursions?

At reception, you’ll find plenty of documentation and a team of people who know the area inside out. When you arrive, we’ll provide you with a map full of practical information (tide times, water, land and other activities…). Our beautiful region abounds in activities as varied as our landscapes. A full press-book is available in each rental to help you plan your next outing and visit.
You can buy tickets for the Cité de la mer directly at reception, and benefit from discounts and a queue cutter. You can also book tickets for the Channel Islands. (For one-day tickets, French nationals need only show proof of identity. However, passports are required for all other nationalities).

Are dogs allowed on beaches?

Your pet will have the chance to stretch its legs on the beach in front of our campsite, which is dog-friendly.
However, many beaches are closed to dogs during the day. You can go after 7pm in the evening.

I'd like to go fishing on foot

You won’t be able to fish on foot from our campsite. We have a sandy beach that shellfish don’t like.
For the beaches on the east coast, it’s possible, so check the tide times and then take along a small guide to shellfish and fishing sizes. Don’t hesitate to ask at reception.

I need to consult a doctor

When you arrive, we’ll give you a map and all the numbers you’ll need, including doctors’ numbers. In case of emergency, there’s a red telephone next to the reception door that you can pick up.
