Looking to get away from it all?
Leave the campsite for adventure
If you feel like leaving the campsite, the many footpaths, including the GR223, that criss-cross the area around Les Pieux promise escapades with breathtaking seaside scenery.
As for jogging enthusiasts, they’ll particularly appreciate the Channel’s temperate climate, ideal for dynamic, rejuvenating runs.
But the treasures don’t stop there. The surrounding villages are well worth a visit. Let yourself be surprised by the local produce and monuments steeped in history.
Fill up on water sports
The sea as a playground
At Camping Le Grand Large, vacation rhymes naturally with water sports. From the large sandy beach, renowned for its beauty, you can enjoy swimming to the rhythm of the tides and the first sensations of gliding. Wave enthusiasts can surf the Sciotot spot, while in July and August, a surf school offers courses and workshops at Le Rozel and Sciotot. If you don’t have your own equipment, don’t worry: surfboards can be hired directly from reception, for a few hours or a day.
To discover other ways of experiencing the ocean, the “Tous à la mer” program at Le Rozel offers bodysurfing, swimming with flippers, aquajogging, anti-aquaphobia sessions and fun activities for children aged 6 and over. Char à voile on Sciotot beach, sailing, sea kayaking, stand-up paddle, windsurfing… depending on what you fancy, the campsite team will guide you to the best spots to make the most of the English Channel.
